NOVICE and expert runners of Andover and beyond took part in this year’s Great South Run.
The ten-mile race saw hundreds of town runners head to Portsmouth for the annual event.
This year many took on the course for local causes including the Countess of Brecknock Hospice and Andover Mencap, but some laced up their shoes to take on a challenge.
Those included the likes of Laura Stroud who was with diagnosed stage 3 triple negative breast cancer in November 2016 and finished treatment in September 2017, and said she was “well enough to absolutely spank” the race.
Others with their own personal stories all agreed that the race was hot with the sun beaming down, but with a great atmosphere.
Along with runners from the town, there was an abundance of volunteers as staff from title sponsors Simplehealth helped offer runners encouragement throughout the event, along with drinks and medals.
A spread of your photos will be published in this week's Advertiser, out on Friday.
