A TADLEY dentist practice is set to close following a decision to cease providing NHS services, citing increased running costs making it no longer sustainable to keep running.

Patients registered with the mydentist surgery in Franklin Avenue have been told that from November 30, the practice will cease to provide NHS services.

A letter sent out to patients states that not being able to recruit a dentists and running costs as the reason for this decision being made.

The letter read: “We are writing to you as a patient of the Franklin Street Dental Practice in Tadley to regrettably inform you that the dental practice will no longer be providing dental services with effect from November 30, 2018 and will cease providing NHS services.

“The reason for this decision is a result of difficulties experienced in recruiting dentists and ongoing running costs which have prevented the practice form operating sustainably.

“This decision has not been taken lightly and we are very sorry we are no longer able to provide dental services at this practice.

“It is anticipated that all open courses of treatment will be completed ot appropriately referred by November 30 and we will be contacting you shortly to arrange appointments.”

Patients at the practice are being advised to register with a new dental practice when it comes time to booking a routine check-up.

All emergency appointments outside of the surgery are being dealt with by the NHS Dental Helpline which can be reached by calling 111.

The letter adds: “We would advise contacting alternative practices as soon as possible to ensure you continue to access NHS dental services after the practice closes.”
