A SOCIAL enterprise which retrains veterans has received an ‘unexpected’ cash boost from Anton Rotary Club.
The club has donated £1,000 to Forces Re-engineered, based at Walworth Industrial Estate, for its work to train ex-service personnel with post-traumatic stress disorder to become qualified motor vehicle technicians.
Founder of the service and repairs workshop, Stephan West, said: “A great big thank you to the Rotary Club for the very generous donation.
“Now I have five veterans working here we need another tool box. This [donation] will buy one with tools from Lazer Tools.
“Again, huge thank you.”
Anton Rotary Club former president Barry Hawgood added: “Anton Rotary is delighted to be able to help in some small way to provide Stephan with additional funds to meet essential tooling requirements of the workshop which will help individuals he is assisting to re-establish themselves back into society.”
