THE high sheriff of Hampshire has launched his community awards.
Mark Thistlethwayte is calling for public servants, individuals, volunteers, charities and community groups to submit their entries for the High Sheriff awards.
The honours are designed to show the vibrant culture in Hampshire and aim to make the county a better place for all residents.
TMr Thistlethwayte, said: “The High Sheriff awards are for those who deserve special recognition for their good work and who go beyond the ‘call of duty’ in their everyday activities, in the area of law and order related projects that enhance safety and cohesion in local communities.
“This is an important part of the High Sheriff’s role and I look forward to recognising the hard work of local people and local organisations that work so hard to make their communities a better and safer place to live and work.”
