THE children of Tadley Community Primary School have held an event to remember the fallen of the First World War.

On Friday, 9 November 2018 the children of Tadley Community Primary School remembered those who lost their lives in the great War and subsequent fighting with a street party, a ceremony in the school hall and a minute's silence.

Members from Tadley and District Royal British Legion were invited to come along too and they read out two poems; Lights Out and In Flanders Fields.

Three children in Years 3/ 4 were asked to read out their own poems to the school and while Years 5/ 6 pupils read recounts of two soldier’s stories of their experiences of the war.

The children sang wartime songs.

Throughout the week every child in the school created their own poppy to add to a whole school display. They learnt all about the First World War and why people wear poppies.
