FESTIVE fun was had to raise funds for a town church.
St Mary’s Church hosted its annual Christmas Fayre at the Harris Hall on Saturday.
During the day there was a host of activities including a raffle and bric-a-brac, with stalls selling “beautifully decorated” Christmas cakes, jams and chutneys and mince pies.
Vigo Primary School also attended with its Parent Teacher Association manning a stall.
Parish administrator Diane Wilson said: “We had a really good turnout and we had people out in the street encouraging people to come in.”
In total £900 was raised from the event.
“The money will go into our appeals funds which is used for big projects for the church, with the latest project being the arch outside the church which cost thousands,” Diane added.
Over the Christmas period, the church is hosting a number of events including a family carol service at 4pm and carols by candlelight at 7pm on December 16; and Christingle on Christmas Eve at 4pm, which is expected to be attended by around 400 people.
