A CHRISTMAS fete has raised over £1000 for a good cause.

Held at The Sports Academy on West Portway Business, Martial Art World held their inaugural Christmas fayre.

Attendees enjoyed handmade cakes, a Christmas-themed raffle, and festive gifts sold by local businesses, all in aid of charity The SAM (Smiles And Memories) Fund.

The SAM Fund enables families of disabled or terminally ill children to go on desperately needed holidays; making precious memories together.

Founder of Martial Art World, Master Bonthuys, said: “Martial Art World does a lot of work to support the local community and this is the first Christmas charity fayre to be held at the Sports Academy.

“I would like to thank everybody involved for their kind generosity, supporting the event to make it so successful!

“The Martial Art World team are delighted to have raised over £1000 for the SAM fund for terminally ill children, and the fundraising will continue this week with a raffle for a special martial arts seminar and a one-to-one private tuition session with the master instructor.

“Children are our future legacy, and we should do everything that we can to support them!”
