A GROUP of little ones learnt about health and safety on a trip to a new housing development.

Children aged between three and four from Adventure Pre-School in Andover were taken on a tour of Saxon Heights in Augusta Park by Taylor Wimpey.

The 14 youngsters were able to learn about the importance of health and safety on a building site, while sporting mini-hard hats and high visibility jackets.

Sales executives Carole Willis and Sophie Marriner were on hand to show the children and nursery staff round and also sent them home with some colouring sheets.

Felicity Knight, Adventure Pre-school assistant manager, said: “The children had a really exciting morning visiting the building site at Saxon Heights.

“They particularly enjoyed spotting all the different vehicles and guessing what they were used for and exploring the space of the new home.”

With the build of the houses at Saxon Heights now complete and a new phase on the site opening soon, the development was the perfect setting for the children to start learning about building new homes and road and site safety.

Nikki Gibson, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West London, said: “Teaching children about health and safety near building sites is something we take very seriously.

“Although these children are some of the youngest we’ve had to our development, we’re proud to be able to educate them early on and let them have some fun taking a look round the new homes too.”
