A CHARITY was ‘overwhelmed’ after receiving a donation from a community awards event.
Following an emotional awards ceremony held at The Lights on October 24, the Pride of Andover Awards has donated £469 to The Countess of Brecknock Hospice.
Presented to the charity last week, the funds — which were given by attendees of the awards’ evening last month — will help the hospice to provide specialist care for people with life-limiting illness in and around Andover.
Matron Sarah McGaughey of The Countess of Brecknock said: “We were overwhelmed and delighted with the generous donation from the Pride of Andover Awards committee, which will make a real difference to our work.”
