A HARROW Way woman who has been coined ‘Mrs Christmas’ has transformed her home into a winter wonderland in aid of charity.

June Baker has spent three-a-and-half weeks putting up her display in time for Tuesday, for families to come and marvel at.

This is the third year she will be collecting for Great Ormond Street Hospital, having raised money for the last 15 years for various charities.

The grandmother-of-two said: “I just love Christmas and all the stuff we have found, I love going out and buying it and putting it up then people can come and see it, which is lovely.

“I get all of the items from America. It is all Disney and this year it is on seven tables.

“When people come in they love it, there is one family who visit and the mum goes into the dining room first and she loves the black tree and the dad loves the red tree and the children love the lot. I once had a family come in on Christmas Day.

“It is a lot of hard work but it is rewarding for me when people come to see it and then when they start to ask me if I am doing it this year.”

Mrs Baker’s husband Frederick has now coined her “Mrs Christmas” as she not only gets him involved in magical event but the rest of her family as well.

She added she chose to support Great Ormond Street Hospital after seeing the work it does on the television.

“When you see it on the television they are trying to build rooms for the parents to stay and no one ever thinks what could happen to their grandchildren.”

The Bakers will be hosting the display and looking for donations to Great Ormond Street until Friday, January 5.
