A FATHER and his daughter have been hit with fines of over £2,000 after they dumped food waste, toys and furniture.

Alan and Stacie Judge fly-tipped the pile at the back of a unit at the Walworth Enterprise Centre, in Duke Court, on June 4.

The waste included wooden furniture, a bed frame, headboard and a plastic set of drawers. Six black sacks were also dumped, which included school library books, children’s toys and food waste.

The pair appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on December 6 where they both pleaded guilty to the offence.

Alan Judge, of Longstock Court, Andover, was fined £465 and ordered to pay a £46 victim surcharge and court costs of £711.91.

Stacie Judge, of Pilgrims Way, Andover, was fined £400 and ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and court costs of £711.91.

Test Valley Borough Council's environmental portfolio holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “This is another message to those who think they can get away with dumping waste in our borough. It doesn’t matter where you are in Test Valley, the materials you are leaving, or how much you choose to dump; fly-tipping is a crime that we absolutely will not stand for.

“I hope this latest prosecution stands as a warning to those who think they can outsmart us. Once again, if there is sufficient evidence to prosecute, you can be assured that we will see you in court.”
