JEWELLERY, cash and Samsung tablets were stolen from a home in Launcelot Close over New Year's Eve.
Residents were out of the house when the burglary took place between 8pm on December 31 and 1.30am on January 1.
Beat officers are warning households to be mindful of opportunists and keep valuable belongings hidden.
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: "The residents were not present at the time of the burglary, but at this time of year the shock of something like this seems to be even more prevalent.
"When leaving your home address please make sure all window and doors are closed and locked.
"This will significantly reduce the chances of anyone breaking into the property."
It is not believed the gas explosion on December 27 impacted this incident, according to police.
