PLANS to build a new health centre are progressing.

Proposals have been developed to create a health and wellbeing hub in Andover.

The West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been working with GP practices and partners on the future of the plan.

The hub will bring together some of the town’s GP practices under one roof as well as other health and care services, and funds will come via a bid to NHS England’s Estates and Technology Transformation Fund.

And now patients and town residents are being asked their views on the hub.

A CCG spokesman said: “This is an exciting scheme for the people of Andover and we want to give them the chance to give their ideas and comments.

“We recognise the population - and their health needs - are both changing, which means that a different type of care is needed. The proposed hub would offer a range of care services under one roof, which should remove some of the pressure from GPs.

“The hub aims to support GP practices and improve joined up working with existing care services, which will ultimately improve the health of the local population.”
