THREE people have been taken to hospital after two separate collisions on the A303 this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving a car and a van on the eastbound carriageway at around 12.50pm today (January 16).

Two fire crews from Andover were on scene to cut free one casualty from a vehicle and another was released by paramedics.

Both were taken to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, one suffering neck injuries and other head injuries.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said that neither are life-threatening.

The road between A3093 for Andover Walworth Park and Longparish Road remains blocked due to an oil spill caused during the incident.

Drivers are advised to use alternative routes while the scene is cleared.

According to Highways England the road is expected to be clear by 3.30pm.

Two other casualties have been treated in another collision close to the Hundred Acre Roundabout.

One of those was taken to Royal Hampshire County Hospital, in Winchester, for further treatment. The extent of their injuries are not known.

Fire crews from Basingstoke, Winchester and Whitchurch were called to the scene.
