A VILLAGE store, that held a Christmas event is aid of a hospice, presented a cheque to the charity this month after its efforts were a success.

The Enham Village Post Office & Stores in Enham Alamein held the Christmas fayre and raffle in aid of Andover’s The Countess of Brecknock Hospice on December 3 and 4.

Leslie and Tim Francis who run the store also raffled off a metal pedal car to help with the fundraising.

The couple presented a cheque of £341 to staff at The Countess of Brecknock Hospice.

The hospice is currently undergoing a £3.6m expansion to provide a new two storey, 10-bedroom building.

The couple said of their fundraising: “Proceeds from the raffle of a Toy car and our Christmas raffle was supported by many of our customers. It’s our way of saying thanks for the great work and support the hospice do.”
