CUSTOMERS will be able to have their say on the proposed Andover Post Office relocation at a forum this week.

The Post Office will be holding a ‘drop-in session’ as part of its consultation process for the Bridge Street branch’s to be moved to and run by WHSmith in High Street.

The forum will be held on Tuesday, February 5, at Andover Guildhall in the town centre between 3pm and 7pm, with people welcome to attend at any point during that period.

Under the proposals, the services at the new branch would remain the same with the with the exception of DVLA Phototocard Driving Licence renewals and Security Industry Authority licence application services.

Services available will include everyday banking for the UK’s high street banks, online shopping returns and collections and foreign exchange.

The Post Office would have four serving positions and it would be located at the back of the WHSmith premises.

Post Office Network and Sales Director Roger Gale said: “We believe our proposal is the most effective way to secure the long term viability of Post Office services for years to come.”

The public consultation runs until 20 February 2019.

The new branch has been proposed to open in May 2019.
