A DOG-walker was grabbed by her ponytail during an assault in broad daylight last weekend.

The woman, aged 50, was walking with her dog in a field near Double Hedges, Bulford, at about 12.40pm on Sunday, January 27, when a man approached her.

The man, who she did not know, verbally abused her and then pulled her hair back by her ponytail, before cycling towards Bulford ranges.

The victim called the police and, although she was left shaken by the incident, was not injured.

The man is described as white, aged between 55 and 60, about 5ft 8inches tall and of stocky build, with a beard and a balding head.

He was wearing black shorts, a black beanie hat, and a waterproof top and was riding a red mountain bike.

PC Andy Morgan said: “This incident has understandably caused a lot of distress and upset to the victim and we are continuing with our enquiries to identify the man involved.”

Anyone who witnessed anything, or may know who the man is, should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190009057.
