GIRL guides were dazzled by the magic of Disney’s film Mary Poppins Returns in an exclusive screening last weekend.
Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members from Andover were among the 57,000 Girlguiding members who attended the mass screenings held on January 19 and 20 across 130 ODEON cinemas across the UK.
The Andover girls “loved” how they could enjoy the new production of the iconic character with fellow girl guides in the area.
One spectator Chloe Davis, six, said: “The film was amazing, it had a really good ending. My favourite part was when they floated about on the balloons.”
Guider Natalie Philpott, from 2nd Whitchurch Brownies, added: “Opportunities like these are brilliant for the girls but today was fantastic for me as a Guider.
“I got to see the magic of Mary Poppins on the Brownies’ faces, listen to them singing along, and hear them exchanging their excitement of it all at the end.
“That is was makes being a leader priceless.”
A special ‘Mary’s Magic Movie Screening’ badge has also been produced, available for Girlguiding members to mark the event in true Girlguiding style.
