NOMINATIONS for Whitchurch’s unsung heroes closed this week as the community awards day draws closer.
Whitchurch Community Awards will crown the town’s finest and inspirational residents on March 2.
Under the banner ‘Welcome to Whitchurch’ members of the town are invited to celebrate the special occasion.
Whitchurch town mayor Councillor John Buckley said: “The Annual Community Awards are a great way to give recognition to those who work voluntarily for the good of the local Whitchurch community, or who inspire others through their personal achievements.
“Much of this caring and wonderful work remains hidden and goes unrewarded.
“With many new houses being built and new residents arriving by the day, the Community Day will have a theme of ‘Welcome to Whitchurch’ with information being provided by a range of organisations to help newcomers to the town together with a chance to meet and socialise.”
