AN ANDOVER woman who dumped an exercise bike, a mattress and a handbag has been ordered to pay almost £2,000.
Donna Ryall, of Galahad Close, discarded the waste in the same street in October last year.
She also fly-tipped sacks of waste and a box full of rubbish, including a bird feeder, shelving and a pallet of wood.
Following an investigation by Test Valley Borough Council officers, the 36-year-old admitted to two counts of fly-tipping at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on January 31.
Ryall was ordered to pay a £200 fine, a £30 victim surcharge and the full amount requested by the council in costs, which was £1,578.50.
Environmental portfolio holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “Everyone needs to dispose of their rubbish responsibly. It is the environment that you live in that is being tarnished by this irresponsible and selfish crime.
“There are many waste disposal areas and recycling centres around the borough and there really is no excuse. Anyone who needs to get rid of large items can contact the council for either advice or our services.
“Please think twice before deciding to illegally dump your waste. If it is your rubbish, then it is your responsibility.”
