A WOMAN who admitted dumping a tent, bathroom shelves, and a case full of paperwork has been hit with a fine.
Jitladda Saunders illegally dumped the waste in Launcelot Close, Andover, in September last year and admitted the offence when she appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on February 28.
Black bin bags and carpet gripper were also all dumped by Saunders, 41, also of Launcelot Close.
Following the Test Valley Borough Council investigation, Saunders was fined £120 and made to pay a £30 victim surcharge, £30 compensation, and £100 court costs.
Environmental portfolio holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “Flytipping is a very selfish crime and I am pleased that we have been able to prosecute the person responsible in this case. Your waste is your responsibility and not that of the council to come and clean up after you. If you need rubbish collected, please speak to us beforehand so we can offer advice.
“There are plenty of facilities across the borough to dispose of your waste correctly, and we will always try to help if residents have questions about their rubbish. You cannot simply dump it, and we will prosecute if we have sufficient evidence.”
