A BRIDE-to-be dreamed of something different for her wedding but was shocked at the cost, so created her own.

Poppy Sullivan spent months making a flower wall for her big day and soon came up with the idea of launching her own business off the back of it.

SP Occasions is now blossoming and people are being wowed by Poppy’s hard work.

“We were looking to hire them, but I am really creative and love creating things myself and thought we could make something out of this.

“I wanted to make it [the flower wall] to hire it out to other people but not as a ridiculous price.

The business officially launched on February 24.

“It took quite a while to make as I handmade the flowers myself which took months and then had to order the panels, and I wanted to get the website how we wanted it, all before we decided we were ready to launch the business.

“We have had a great response from family and friends. Quite a few people like our Facebook page and have shared it.”

The 24-year-old is running the business alongside fiancé Sam Cooney, a physical training instructor in the army.

The couple will marry in August, and the flower wall will be showcased at their wedding.

Poppy said: “The planning of our wedding has been such a joy that it has made us want to continue in the wedding industry.”

But it is not just weddings the pair want to hire the wall out for, as they are also looking at baby showers and birthday parties

Poppy has also got an idea to create another flower wall, this time in blush to open up the market for the business.

The pair have said that anyone who is thinking about starting a business to “just go for it”.

“It took us a long time to have the courage to say ‘yes, let’s do this!’ It can be a very anxious time,” Poppy added.
