AN ANDOVER care home has been named amongst the best in the region for the second successive year.

Harrier Grange was voted in the top 20 Recommended Care Homes in the south east by carehome.co.uk.

The awards highlight the most recommended care homes and are based on over 75,000 reviews from residents, friends and family members.

The facility, a 66-bed home in Hawker Siddeley Way, which opened two years ago, has a 9.9 score on the website based on 20 reviews.

All reviewers rated Harrier Grange as ‘excellent’ and were ‘extremely likely’ to recommend the care home.

Deputy care home manager Hannah Barrett said: “We are extremely pleased to be awarded as one of the top 20 recommended care homes in the south east for the second year in a row. It means a lot to all of the staff at Harrier Grange care home and the residents are proud to be living at a home which is so highly regarded.

“Our approach to ongoing healthcare is about more than simply meeting the care needs of our residents but about looking after overall well-being. At Harrier Grange, we provide a lifestyle that is both enriching and rewarding.

“We offer a comprehensive activities programme, which our residents love. We’ve got lots planned for Easter to keep them entertained and making them happy, as well as providing first-class care, is what it is all about.

“This accolade is recognition for all the hard work the team carry out on a day-to-day basis. I want to say a big thank you to all the staff for making our second year in Andover so successful.”

The group which owns Ashbourne Court Care Home, in Salisbury Road, is also celebrating success.

For the third consecutive year, care provider brighterkind features in the Top 20 Care Homes Group Awards, from the leading independent customer review site.

Ashbourne Court has contributed to this award by achieving a rating of 9.6 out of a possible maximum of 10, based on reviews given by residents, their families and visitors to the home.

Lorraine McGarry-Wall, chief operating officer for brighterkind, said: “It’s a credit to the dedication of the team at Ashbourne Court and in all our care homes that the very positive comments and recommendations have placed brighterkind as one of the most highly recommended care groups in the UK.”
