YOUNGSTERS seeking to raise awareness of environmental issues have worked together to receive esteemed praise.

Andover Trees United works in conjunction with six schools as curriculum partners and this year three schools went a step further to display their work.

Appleshaw C of E, Andover C of E and Harrow Way Community schools put together a joint exhibition to illustrate the work they have been doing which was displayed at an annual award ceremony.

The ceremony took place after the pupils took part in internationally renowned environmentalist Dr Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots programme.

The schools shared their outcomes on the theme ‘This planet needs us more than ever now’ and received an award for their work.

During the day, Dr Jane visited all the exhibitions and spent a considerable length of time with the Andover Trees United representatives discussing the breadth of their display.
