A CIRCUS that started out in Hampshire more than 30 years ago is returning to its roots this month.

Jay Miller’s Circus will be at Finkley Down Farm until Wednesday.

The show features performers from all across Europe, including Spain, Italy, Ireland and Hungary, but it was in Broughton, Hampshire, that the company staged its very first show.

The event took place at Broughton Village Hall in March 1987, and four years later the circus made its way to Andover where it has returned year after year since.

Jay Miller’s Circus also offers guests a chance to raise money for charity. For a small donation, visitors can have their photo taken with Bumblebee, from the Transformers films. And if you cannot make a donation, share your photo on Facebook after the show and the circus will donate 50p for you.

So far the scheme has raised over £17,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Performances run at 5pm and 7pm tonight (Friday), 2pm and 5pm tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, and 6pm on Monday and Tuesday. The final show takes place on Wednesday at 4.30pm.
