A COMMUNITY is set to host its first ever festival this Bank Holiday weekend.
More than 20 groups, clubs and organisations are taking part in Love Augusta Park, offering workshops, taster sessions and activities for free to residents today (Saturday) and Sunday.
Activities will include yoga, judo, art workshops, singing and dancing while on both days there will be a community picnic and performances on the green, and on Saturday evening, there will be an outdoor cinema with a showing of Bohemian Rhapsody at 9pm.
Reverend Lee Davies, of MORSE church, said: "The aim of the festival is to create a free space where people can come together to celebrate our community and see all the opportunities that are right on their doorstep."
The weekend will see the festival spread over several venues in the area, including the primary school campuses, YMCA, the Augusta Park Community Centre, St Pauls Church and the skate park.
MORSE, along with Endeavour Primary School, Test Valley Borough Council, Augusta Park Community Centre and Andover YMCA all helped set up the event.
Alongside taster sessions and performances, the Happy Art Company will be facilitating the creation of a community art piece, inviting residents of the community old and young to create their own unique jigsaw piece which will all come together to form a piece of art over the weekend.
