A VILLAGE primary school is celebrating sporting success.

Appleshaw St Peter’s CE School took part in the annual Rural School Netball Tournament on May 21 at John Hanson Community School.

The school’s pupils succeed in coming first, third and fifth with the three teams it had entered.

A school spokesperson said: “The communication between the players was excellent and all the children played really well. As always, our pupils were a credit to the school with their sportsmanship and game play. Our netball club has been running for many years and it is the pupils’ enthusiasm and support for each other that has led them to being so successful. We are so proud of every single pupil that took part — the winning was a real bonus. And the sun shone for us! Great work Appleshaw.”
