HARROW Way School started the GCSE exam season a little differently for its Year 11 students.
Before the exams started, the school held a special assembly during which each of the students received a letter of encouragement from either parents or a member of staff.
Deputy headteacher Caroline Lowing said: “This is the third year we’ve invited parents to write something meaningful to their children on the eve of their GCSE exams.
“In these letters of encouragement parents wish their children good luck in their exams and say how proud they are of them.”
With 180 students in Year 11, staff have been liaising with families since March, but teachers said the work is always worth it as they see the students “touched by the messages they receive”.
