Man arrested on suspicion of rape after report of attack on woman
AN ANDOVER man has been arrested on suspicion of rape following an attack in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called after a report that a 23-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted in a play park of Smannell Road, between 3am and 4.45am on June 2.
The woman is being supported by specialist officers while a 32-year-old man, from Andover, has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
He remains in police custody at this time.
Officers were in the area during the hours following the report, with forensics teams also present.
