THE chief executive of a charity helping thousands of people each year has expanded the number of lucky recipients from Test Valley to be invited to a Queen’s Garden Party.
Terry Bishop, chief executive of Unity, and her husband Phil put on their glad rags and enjoyed the ambience of the Buckingham Palace garden, surrounded by hundreds of others who support their community, on May 21, the same day as the couple’s wedding anniversary.
Terry said: “It was a great pleasure to be invited and to join other guests at the Queen’s Garden Party. It was an experience I will treasure forever and to have been nominated for the work I love was really humbling.”
Unity provide various services including community transport, shopmobility, the volunteer centre and help for charities and community groups reaching vulnerable people across the borough and it was for her work supporting the community that Terry was nominated.
