GETTING on the housing ladder was the focus of a recent event involving MP for North West Hampshire Kit Malthouse.

Housing minister Mr Malthouse attended Helping Andover Prosper, organised by Lloyds Banking Group.

The event focused on helping answer people’s questions on the housing market and any related concerns, as well as providing digital training to help local businesses and charities to enhance their digital presence.

Mr Malthouse said: “Helping young people get onto the housing ladder is a priority for the government.

“We have continued Help to Buy and cut stamp duty to give young people the financial support they need, while also promoting shared ownership.

“But we’ll never address the housing issues facing young people until we build the homes the next generation needs so were pushing forward to our 300,000 homes a year target with massive investment, planning reform and a focus on innovative new building technologies.”
