HUNDREDS of people embraced the sunshine at the first ever Made in Manchester festival.

The event celebrated the 90s Manchester music scene with Stone Roses, Oasis, The Smiths, and Happy Mondays tributes acts, as well as up-and-coming talent.

People of all ages packed the grassy area to the back of Bolton Arena, with some VIPs also watching from the arena balcony. Some festivalgoers set up camping chairs to watch the acts while others stood, enjoying a drink or food from one of the vendors on site.

Wigan rockers Stanleys opened the show before making way for the first tribute act of the night Happy Mondaze.

The band featured their very own Bez, who continued to make appearances on stage during other band’s sets.

Next up was one of two Bolton bands on the line-up - Our Fold. Local favourites The Jade Assembly were also performing later in the evening.

Host Dave Sweetmore, from radio station XS Manchester, described Our Fold and The Jade Assembly as "two of the best bands to ever come out of Bolton" and they certainly did not disappoint.

These Smiths took to the stage just as former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr took to the stage at Glastonbury and then Noel Gallagher (above) watched on as The Oasis Experience blasted through a crowd-pleasing set.

Resurrection Stone Roses then rounded off a great day with a euphoric set.
