YOUNGSTERS across Test Valley will be able to benefit from a range of facilities and experiences while getting out and about this summer.

Together with Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and Middle Wallop Army Air Corps, Test Valley Borough Council is helping to run a number of free community sports sessions in August.

The events will feature a range of sports sessions provided by local clubs and coaches in Andover and Romsey, such as hockey, football, athletics and cardio-tennis.

Open to anyone in Test Valley aged between eight and 15, the events will be held on August 1 at Romsey Sports Centre playing fields and the Charlton Sports Academy on August 19. They will run from 11am until 3pm and spaces on each are limited.

Community and leisure portfolio holder, Councillor Tony Ward, said: “These sessions have proved to be incredibly popular. I’m grateful for the efforts of all the partner organisations and I think, between us all, we manage to put on a pretty good day!

“It benefits our young people, encourages them to get active and brings together a number of clubs and sports coaches from the borough. It also enables people to get to know their emergency services a little better, too. The sessions have been expanded this year, so please make sure you book while you can!”

Places are limited and pre-registration is required. To register and for more information, visit www.testvalley.gov.uk/community-sports.
