AN ASSAULT in a bar in Andover last month left a man requiring surgery for his injuries, and police are now appealing for more information.

The assault took place at Plush, in London Street, at around 12.30am on Saturday, June 15.

The 35-year-old victim had been sat on the floor against a wall after an altercation took place in the bar.

He was then approached by an unknown man, who punched him in the face, leaving him with fractures to his cheekbone and eyesocket.

The injuries required him to undergo reconstructive surgery.

Police have released an image and details of the man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

He is described as white, between 20 and 30 years of age, around 6ft tall and of medium build with dark hair and extensive tattoos on his left arm, plus others on his right.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who was in Plush that night and witnessed what happened.
