FAMILIES, friends and the local community gathered for an afternoon of fun in the sun at the Norman Gate School summer fair last weekend.

Crowds flocked to the school on Saturday, July 13, to join in the festivities and raise money for new school equipment.

There was plenty to see and do throughout the day, including face painting, a bouncy castle, a craft stall, a bottle stall, the ‘hook a duck’ challenge as well as two tombolas – one for adults and another for children.

Spider-man was also on hand striking a pose for a number of selfies and there were two opportunities to win tickets to see Jack Whitehall in a meet-and-greet event, one to take place at the O2, in London, and the second at a studio location.

The event was organised by the Norman Gate Friends Association and raised £1,777 in total.

Those funds will be used to help the school purchase equipment for a new sensory studio as well as a canopy which will provide an all-weather outdoor classroom.

Headteacher Kelly Wilkie said: “It has been a fantastic afternoon, so lovely to see our families and the wider community enjoying themselves and supporting school.

“This is a growing event and I would like to thank Norman Gate Friends for all their hard work.”
