A TIDWORTH mum has spoken out about the importance of bike helmets after her son was involved in a collision.
On Thursday, August 1, at about 4.35pm emergency services were called to a collision on the A3026 between Ludgershall and Tidworth.
The incident occurred to between a van and a child on a bicycle.
The child, named by Ludgershall Fire Station as Oliver, had been pinned between his bicycle and the van by using equipment to lift the vehicle.
Speaking on the station’s Facebook, Oliver’s mum Angharad said: “Don't be a fool, helmets are cool!
“I'm hugely grateful that both my son and the driver walked away this time and that was down to Oliver wearing his helmet and the driver’s fast reaction.”
