TIME is running out to nominate the most inspiring, community-minded people of Andover to be recognised for their selfless acts.

Sponsored by an array of local businesses passionate about the town and its community, this year’s Pride of Andover varied awards categories have been created to celebrate individuals and community groups working tirelessly and volunteering their free time to make the town a great place to be.

The accolades offer the opportunity for anyone nominated to be shortlisted for an award, including the Young Person of the Year Award, jointly sponsored this year by Bear Behind Ltd. and The Carpet Cleaning Lady.

A very special award has been created to recognise a young person who has made a real difference, either through their actions, by fundraising and/or working tirelessly in their community, neighbourhood, charity or club.

Katie Brooks, of Bear Behind Ltd, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Pride of Andover Awards this year; particularly the Young Person of the Year category.

“Young people are most certainly the future of our community and, to celebrate their achievements and their passions - their willingness to take positive action for the good of our town - feels incredibly important.

“If you know a young person, under the age of 18, making a positive difference to Andover, through fundraising or volunteering, please nominate them.”

Now in its 13th year the Pride of Andover Awards exists to shed light on the town’s unsung heroes - endorsing the inspiring and often selfless actions of Andover’s most generous individuals; promoting a sense of pride in the town.

Nominations close on August 31, to nominate someone for one of the award categories, go to prideofandoverawards.org.uk/nominate.
