A WOMAN has been charged with causing the death of a motorcyclist from Andover following a collision.

Andrew Mayer, aged 61, of Fairways died as a result of the two-vehicle crash at the crossroads with the B3420 and Newton Lane, near Stockbridge, on June 30, last year.

Police have charged Dr Sarah Holton, of Broadleaf Close, Basingstoke, with causing death by careless driving.

The 42-year-old will stand trial at Winchester Crown Court on November 18.

The incident, which occurred at around 1.40pm, involved a blue Hyundai and Mr Mayer’s motorbike.

In a tribute to Mr Mayer, his family said: "He was a devoted father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many.

“His family and friends are left devastated by the sudden loss. No words can truly describe how deeply missed he will be.”
