MOTORISTS faced significant delays on Monday afternoon after a lorry crash on the M3.

Pictures from the scene, near junction 11 for Shawford, showed the vehicle stranded across the central reservation.

Two lanes of the northbound carriageway and one lane of the southbound carriageway were closed and huge queues of traffic have built up in both directions.

There were delays as far south as the M27 and M3 link roads and as far north as Kings Worthy.

A Highways England statement says: "Recovery has arrived and is now in the process of righting the vehicle."

It is not known if anyone has been injured.
