A GARDEN party held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a Warrington charity has been hailed as a ‘great success’.

Organised by Home-Start Warrington and held at the Smile Centre in Orford, the event gave both supporters and families the chance to enjoy a number of fun games and activities.

Since forming in 1999, the charity has helped over 1,500 families from Warrington to build a better future for their young children by providing support to those in need.

And as well as celebrating 20 years serving the community, Home-Start wanted to give something back to the people they have helped and those that have helped them over the years.

The party was opened by Chair of Trustees Gwen Lightfoot, Scheme Manager Kate Griffiths and Cheshire Community Foundation CEO Zoe Sheppard.

They spoke proudly of Home-Start and of the great work that trustees, staff and volunteers do to support families and children in the town.

Attending the party were past and current funders, supporters and fundraisers alongside volunteers, referrers, trustees and families who have benefited from the help of Home-Start over the years.

Kate Griffiths, Scheme Manager, said: “Thank you to everyone who helped to make this event a great success.

“It was a pleasure to see the children having so much fun”
