THE founding members behind Andover’s Festival of Motoring are calling for people to help on the day.

The event is looking for people with an interest in cars to assist on Sunday, September 22 for the motor-fuelled display.

Volunteers are needed to help with logistics of parking vehicles, helping with visitor questions and making sure the event runs smoothly.

Sheryl Scott-Clarke, who founded the event alongside Michael Ford, said: “This year’s festival nearly didn’t happen but thanks to Our Andover CIC for finding us and assisting this year in hosting our event at short notice, the founding members have been able to put on the largest festival so far.”

David Coole, director of Our Andover CIC, said: “We are privileged to be hosting the Festival and to raise funds for local causes. Residents are busy nominating/voting for their preferred local causes via the Our Andover Facebook group, so if you see a donation bucket during the Festival, please give generously.”

The festival is free and will cover the town centre and Vigo Park, with over 300 vehicles, including cars, motorbikes, aviation, military, farming and commercial vehicles and fun fair rides from 10am to 4pm.
