TRAVELLERS have set up a camp at the industrial estate at Walworth after forcing their way into an unused site.
The group arrived yesterday (Thursday) at the former site of Ducal, on the corner of South Way and Walworth Road.
Test Valley Borough Council has been made aware, with court proceedings already in motion to have the travellers moved on.
A spokesperson from the council said: “We are aware that a group [of] travellers forced entry into the former Ducal site on Walworth Business Park earlier this afternoon (Thursday).
“This is completely unacceptable and having already visited the site, council officers have started the process of pursuing court proceedings to remove them as quickly as possible.”
Police confirmed that officers have visited the site and "are working with the landowner to seek a suitable resolution".
Updates as we have them.
