ONE MAN has died and four people have been arrested after pair of stabbings in Basingstoke last night.

Police found a man with stab wounds at a property in Shooters Way after responding to a report of a disturbance at the address at 10.44pm on Saturday.

Ambulance crews were also in attendance. The victim was taken to hospital but later died.

A formal identification of the deceased has not yet taken place.

Two 29-year-old men and a 36-year-old woman, all from Basingstoke, as well as a 16-year-old boy from Croydon have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police are also investigating a second stabbing which could be related.

Ambulances were called to a man with stab wounds in nearby Normanton Road at 10.53pm last night.

The victim was taken to hospital where his condition was described as serious but stable.

DCI Dave Storey from Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Unit said: “We would like to reassure the public that we are treating these incidents as potentially linked and targeted events.

“There is a police cordon in place at this time and officers are carrying out house to house enquiries. Officers will also be carrying out extra patrols in the area so if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to them.

“If you were driving in the vicinity and have dash cam footage around that time, please also get in touch quoting the same reference.”
