AN ANDOVER choir have expressed their vocal chords to raise vital funds for the county’s air ambulance.
The Harmonium Singers, has handed over a cheque for £1,350 to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) following a successful concert in July this year.
The cheque was received at the charity’s airbase in Thruxton, home to the organisation’s helicopter.
Musical director Bruce Randall said: “Most of our concerts set out to raise a substantial amount of money for a local charity. What we tend to do is put on a programme likely to appeal to people who love smaller-scale choral music, but always approachable to those less familiar with it. With typically low concert costs we are able to donate the vast majority of the ticket money. One of our singers is a trustee of HIOWAA so we were particularly delighted to help with this great cause, which is funded entirely from community fundraising and donations.”
