ACTIVISTS working to make Andover plastic-free filled a dozen bags of rubbish after teaming up and cleaning up a riverside footpath in the town last weekend.
The litter-pick took place on Saturday, September 21, to coincide with World Clean Up day.
A team of seven, including town councillor and vice chairman of The Anton River Conservation Association (TARCA), Graeme Davis, plus the directors of Go Vapour, the vape shop in Andover, worked together to remove as much rubbish as possible from the footpath at the rear of Wickes and the Range, next to the River Anton.
Together they manged to fill over 12 bags of rubbish in the space of just two hours.
Their findings ranged from everyday rubbish to a spirit level and even a fire extinguisher.
Andover Plastic Free and TARCA are hoping to team up with other community groups in the town and carry out more litter-picks and eco events in the future.
