A STRETCH of the A303 is expected to "remain closed for some time" after a crash involving a cyclist and a lorry.
Police and the ambulance service were called the scene on the westbound carriageway, near Amesbury, just after midday, with the paramedics from the air ambulance also in attendance.
Emergency services are yet to comment on the severity of any injuries.
The dual-carriageway was closed in both directions between the junctions for the A338 (Cholderton) and the A345 (Amesbury).
Police have confirmed that the disruption is expected to continue into this afternoon.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after midday today we were called to a collision between a lorry and a cyclist on the westbound carriageway of the A303, east of Solstice Park.
“Emergency services remain at the scene and the westbound carriageway is expected to remain closed for some time.
“We are urging motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes.”
