THE construction firm behind the redevelopment of the Octagon Theatre has revealed where it is up to with the project.
Willmott Dixon has released its September newsletter, including the latest updates about 'Octagon Reimagined'.
The £10 million project is the first part of the town's masterplan.
It is set to transform the building, update backstage facilities, increase accessibility and much more.
The newsletter said that the outside of the building has been covered in order to allow internal work without water getting inside.
"In September, the major ongoing works taking place at the Octagon Theatre are the installation of cladding, SFS, weather boarding and curtain walling around the envelope of the building," the newsletter read.
"This work ensures that the building can become watertight, therefore allowing internal partitions and finishes to take place without risk of water damage.
"Inside the Octagon theatre containment and ducting is being installed throughout as well as continued structural alterations.
"We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that the works may cause. However, we are doing upmost to reduce any disruptions and have a planned delivery schedule system to manage vehicle deliveries to maintain traffic routes around site."
Wilmott Dixon also confirmed that in October, external cladding would be completed, substructure brickwork would start, and curtain walling frames would be completed to allow glazing. It also said internal works would continue.
