STAFF and residents from an Andover care home raised £120 for people fighting cancer.

Harrier Grange, in Hawker Siddeley Way, teamed up with Co-operative Food in Salisbury Road, to help support Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Thursday, September 26.

The event is Macmillan’s biggest annual fundraiser for people fighting the disease.

The money raised by Harrier Grange and Co-operative Food will go towards paying for nurses for cancer patients, respite time for families and support groups for both patients and their family members.

George Radoicovici, care home manager, said: “Here at Harrier Grange we always look forward to opening our doors to the public, especially when it’s for such a good cause.

“Our residents enjoy socialising with new people as well as fundraising. It gives everyone a good feeling knowing that they’re helping to make a difference.

“We strongly support Macmillan Cancer Support in their mission to ensure that people with cancer don’t have to face it alone.

“Our residents really loved saying hello to some new faces as well as catching up with old friends over a cuppa and some delicious cake, all the while raising a total of £120 for Macmillan.”
