ALL lanes have now re-opened after an earlier accident on the M3.

The accident took place on the southbound carriageway at Junction 11, with lanes two and three blocked.

However, the accident has now been cleared.

At around 4.30pm, traffic was queuing back to Winchester Services and delays were two hours.

However, traffic is slowly easing and delays are now at 40 minutes.

Traffic was also queuing on the A34 southbound, which is now slowly easing, and the M3 northbound, with traffic slow from Junction 14 for Eastleigh.

Martin Robertson on Facebook said: "I saw the fire engines heading up the M3 and saw the traffic queuing.

"Glad I pulled off at Winchester now and took the back roads."

Meanwhile Dean Benham said: "Been sat in it over 2 hours already."

Update: Traffic has now returned to normal.
