AN EMPTY unit in Andover town centre will soon be filled, with a vape shop set to open its doors.

VPZ has renovated the exterior of the unit at 67 High Street, the former site of the Age UK charity shop.

VPZ describes itself as “the UK’s leading e-cigarette retailer”. It was established as a family business in Edinburgh in 2012 and now has over 125 stores nationwide.

There is currently no word on when exactly the shop will be open, and though the inside of the store has also been renovated, it is not currently stocked.

VPZ has been contacted for more information.

However, once the store is operational, it is expected to be open from 8.30am until 6pm from Monday through Saturday, as well as Sunday from 11am to 5pm.

Those hours mean it will open half an hour earlier and close half an hour later than both of Andover’s exiting vape shops, Vapour Wise and Go Vapour. Neither of the existing stores open at all on Sundays.

News of the new store has been welcomed by Go Vapour, with the manager of the shop saying: “Any shop opening is always better than a shop closing."

The manager of Andover BID has also welcomed the news, pointing to a number of other new additions that have recently opened for business in the town.

Steve Godwin, BID manager, said: “BID is delighted that the VPR vape shop is about to open in town filling an empty unit.

“The SP Bar is officially opening this Friday offering a new cocktail bar with a stylish interior and creating a wonderful atmosphere, a new concept to the town. Burgos Pet World and the Andover Tap and Ho Space are also very recent additions to Andover.”
